Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. O'Dell, as well as anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC.
